REVELATIONS 20:1-10 ESV
1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. 2 And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, 3 and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while. 4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, …and who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years. 7 And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. 9 And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, 10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
AMILLENNIALISM
Literally means “no millennium.”
“Millennium” is to be interpreted figuratively.
“Millennium” is a very long time referring the entire period between Christ’s ascension and return.
Jesus reigns over the earth from his throne in heaven.
POSTMILLENNIALISM
The millennium is an age of success for the gospel that prepares the earth for Christ’s return.
Believes that this world will become better and better, with the entire world eventually becoming “Christianized.” After this happens, Christ will return.
PREMILLENNIALISM
Believes that Jesus will physically return to the Earth (the Second Coming) before the Millennium, heralding a literal thousand-year age of peace.
Premillennialism is based upon a literal interpretation of Revelation 20:1–6.
Believes that Jesus will reign physically on earth during the millennium.
I. THE RESTRAINED ONE
REVELATIONS 19:20-21 ESV
20 And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. 21 And the rest were slain by the sword that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

II. THE RULE AND REIGN OF CHRIST
REVELATIONS 19:16 ESV
16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords. 4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God,

REVELATIONS 20:5 ESV
5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.

THERE WILL BE A RESTORED CREATION
ISAIAH 11:6,8 ESV

III. THE REBELLION
EPHESIANS 2:1-3 ESV
1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience--3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
The problem is not the environment, it is the heart.
ISAIAH 9:6-7 ESV
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.
REVELATIONS 20:14-15 ESV
14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
