The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Question #1:
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FEAR THE LORD?

PSALMS 33:8-9 NIV

Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. for he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

EXODUS 20:18-20 NIV

When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distance and said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.” Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.”

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO FEAR THE LORD?

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? Who has understood the mind of the LORD, or instructed him as his counselor? Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge or showed him the path of understanding?

And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his God by keeping all the words of this law and these statutes, and doing them

“How do we learn the fear of the Lord? By spending time in his Word”
