Sermon Notes:
I. POSTURE OF HUMILITY (v.1)
PROVERBS 30:13 NASB
13 There is a kind--oh how lofty are his eyes! And his eyelids are raised in arrogance.
You can either look up to the Lord or look down on other people. But you can’t do both at the same time.
If the proud heart has to do with pride in relation to self, and proud eyes has to do with pride in relation to others, the proud walk has to do with pride in relation to God.
II. POSTURE OF CONTENTMENT (v.2)
Weaning is the process of gradually introducing an infant to adult diet while withdrawing the supply of its mother’s milk.
Until Jesus is enough for us, nothing else will ever be.
III. POSTURE OF HOPE (v.3)
God weans us from our dependence on the temporal so that we are not enticed into trusting him for what he can give but because of who he is.
God is not our last hope. He is our only hope!
